UCLA Beats Gonzaga With Late Surge

BasWith Gonzaga controlling the game with UCLA in the NCAA Basketball Tournament of 2006, it was shocking to some to see UCLA come out with the victory.  Fans watched as UCLA fell behind by 17 points in the first half.  With a little over three minutes left in the game, and UCLA trailing by 9 points, fans began to realize defeat.  The UCLA players were not giving up so easily however and continued to press on.

Fans edged to the end of their seats with anticipation as UCLA took control and charged into a win over Gonzaga.  It is certainly a tournament where anything can happen and with the way this game went, one knows it is true.  This was certainly a game that fans thought belonged to Gonzaga until UCLA decided finally it was not meant to be that way.   Hopefully fans did not give up early and switch the game off before those final three minutes.  The last three minutes were the defining points of the game.  Call it a surge of desperation or call it planned strategy, but the UCLA players are calling it an exciting win!

No matter what the outcome was, the players of Gonzaga came to play and to bring their best, and that is what they showed everyone watching.  They reacted with disappointment, but dignity and should be proud of their showing.
